The day before school started Chad and I wanted to take the kids to do something fun. Basically the last hoorah of summer so to speak. Jared was kind enough to take our family to the lake on Tues. We all love just being on the boat and soaking up the sun. We stopped often and swam to keep from dying of a heat stroke. The kids had tried at Powell to wake board behind the jet ski but it wasn't the best option. Jared made the comment then that he didn't think B would have any problem getting up behind the boat. Tate tried first and did pretty good. I gave B some gentle nudging and then just told her she flat out had to try:) I have realized with Brooks that she is nervous to fail and it tends to get in the way of her trying new things. We told her she had to at least try and once she was out there she could call it quits whenever. It only took her 2 tries to get up and from that point on she had no problem popping right up. Jared put a really short rope out and pulled her pretty slow so she wouldn't be scared at all. About the 4Th time she popped right up and stayed up for a while. I was so proud of her for trying and doing with a smile on her face. It was so fun to see her grinning from ear to ear out there. She stayed out there for a while and only decided to quit when her body was to tired to go again. As a kid I was not always the best at things but I was not afraid to try new things. I hope that B realizes that I make her try new things for her own good. Without being willing to at least try new things I worry she will miss out on experiences that she would really enjoy. So B thanks for putting up with me when I ask you and force you to step outside of your comfort zone. I only do it because I love you. You do not have to be perfect at anything and even if you fail at things I love you just the same. You make me so proud to be your mom. You are a very talented person and it is so fun to watch you learn new things and grow. Your AWESOME!!!!!!!!
